Material knowledge
Choose by performance, not appearance alone
Angular particles lock together for stable bases, rounded stone moves more easily underfoot, washed aggregate drains freely, and materials containing fines compact into a firmer surface.
Washed gravel and drainage stone
A cleaner gradation with few fines leaves open space for water movement around drains, foundations, and utility bedding.
Decorative and river stone
Color, texture, and shape are the primary considerations. Rounded products suit landscape beds; angular products tend to stay in place better.
Sand and screenings
Fine materials are used for bedding, leveling, masonry, joints, and specialty surfaces. Match washed, concrete, masonry, or screening grades to the job.
Soil, compost, and fill
Screened topsoil supports lawns and finish grading, enriched blends support planting, and fill material builds grade where growing quality is not the priority.
Mulch and bedding
Organic ground cover helps moderate soil moisture and temperature. Install depth depends on particle size, site conditions, and whether old mulch remains.

Prepare a safe dump location
Bulk delivery trucks are large and heavy. The driver makes the final decision about where the truck can safely travel and unload.
- Provide a firm, level, truck-accessible surface.
- Clear cars, trailers, gates, and other obstructions.
- Check overhead wires, branches, roofs, and vertical clearance.
- Identify septic systems, soft shoulders, and buried utilities.
- Keep people and pets away while the truck maneuvers.
- Mark the intended pile location so it is easy to identify.

Standard service is bulk dump delivery. Spreading, grading, placement in multiple piles, or driving onto soft or restricted surfaces is not included unless it is explicitly confirmed for the order.
